Epidemiological aspects and malacofauna of the São Francisco River, northeastern Brazil

ABSTRACT
Limnic mollusks could negatively affect the ecosystem in which they are found, economy, human and animals´ health. This study reports on a survey of freshwater sources their spatial distribution, as well investigating them for presence trematodes municipality Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, Sergipe, Brazil. was performed through March 2016 November 2017. The were collected different water bodies georeferenced studied area, identified analyzed trematodes. Thirty-four sampled, found 18 (53%) them. From 5,196 4,747 (91%) gastropods 449 (9%) bivalves - distributed seven families eleven species. Among species two medical-veterinary importance (Biomphalaria straminea Melanoides tuberculata) four exotic invasive (Corbicula fluminea, C. largillierti, Limnoperna fortunei M. tuberculate). Of 1,473 trematodes, five (0.33%) infected, one specimen contained Vivax, Pleurolophocercous, Virgulate. For first time these six taxa have been described State Sergipe: Drepanotrema depressissimum, D. cimex, lucidum, Ancylidae, Physa acuta largillierti. contributes to knowledge biodiversity distribution limnic addition serving support monitoring prevention bio species, intermediate hosts, since area presented potential helminth transmission.
