ABSTRACT
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation has a strong influence in the damage of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). In this work, possibility DNA UV dosimeter is evaluated. For that, calf thymus samples, thin films and aqueous solutions, were irradiated with 254 nm wavelength light during different periods time, being caused by irradiation analysed both UV-visible infrared spectroscopies. As polyelectrolyte, pH samples was also considered as variable. Results demonstrated that takes place solutions when at nm, revealed consistent decay measured absorbance values. However, seen to give more reliable induced easily measured. case, 260 exponentially decrease time result kinetics strongly dependent pH. Consequently, lifetime such device can be chosen changing solutions.
