ABSTRACT
The present communication evaluates salinity tolerance of two freshwater Silurid catfishes Clarias magur and Pangasianodon hypophthalmus (Order: Siluriformes) from coastal mainland Sundarban, India, where climate change induced intrusion is a persistent phenomenon. After 100% mortality all the fishes had been obtained 15 to 20 g l -1 levels in first phase range-finding test, non-renewal static toxicity bioassay was performed determine median lethal (MLS-50 96h ) for every fish by direct exposure various salinities (5-18 ).The MLS-50 found as ≈ 13 .Overall, findings study revealed that these catfish species might be suitable culture brackish water containing up 10 can encouraged Indian Sundarban other tropical deltas frequent phenomenon.
