ABSTRACT
Data and R scripts underlying the study Diblíková L., Pipek P., Vosolsobě S., Petrusek A., Petrusková T. (2023): Reevaluation of dialect boundaries in the Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella) based on citizen science data: should we split or lump? Avian Research, 14: 100115. doi: 10.1016/j.avrs.2023.100115 ===== Yellowhammer_WAVs.zip: an archive containing completed Yellowhammer songs in PCM (WAV) format (mono, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz), extracted from selected recordings originating from the Dialects of Czech Yellowhammers, which were used for quantitative measurements of temporal and frequency parameters. Details about the source recordings, as well as measured data, are provided in Supplementary Table S1. Supplementary_Table_S1.xlsx: Microsoft Excel spreadsheet (XLSX) containing: origin of analysed recordings (geographic coordinates and recording date), original and reclassified dialect assignment, input variables (df, bw, t2, c1, c2, c3) and results from multivariate analyses (PCA, UMAP), and source measurement values (time and frequency of individual points). Measurements correspond to sound files in “Yellowhammer_WAVs.zip”. map_points.csv: information on all Yellowhammer recordings shown in the maps included in the publication (Fig. 4, Fig. S1). Contains male ID; longitude and latitude in the WGS84 coordinate system (lon, lat); original and reclassified dialect (dialect, new_dialect); information whether the terminal elements of the song used for dialect classification were quantitatively analysed in the study (measured: yes), reclassified based on the newly set criteria (measured: arb) or not measured (measured: no); assignment to clusters in Fig. 3 for measured recordings (clusters); inclusion of the respective recording in Fig. 4 (in_voronoi) clusters_script.R: an annotated R script to analyse quantitative measurements from the recordings, including multivariate analyses (PCA, UMAP), and to generate outputs (source for Fig. 3) maps_script.R: an annotated R script to generate map outputs, which are source of the respective figures included in the publication (Fig. 4 with Voronoi polygons, and Fig. S1 with dots indicating position of each recording)
