ABSTRACT
Using performance-based optimisation to explore unknown design solutions space has become widely acknowledged and considered an efficient approach designing high-performing buildings. However, the lack of diversity in defined by parametric model often confines search process a family similar variants. In order overcome this weakness, paper presents two massing generation algorithms based on additive subtractive form principles.By abstracting rule these principles, can generate diverse building alternatives. This allows be used for exploring wide range alternatives guided various performance objectives. Two case studies passive solar energy are presented demonstrate efficacy algorithm helping architects achieve explorative process.
