ABSTRACT
In recent years, the issue of using bilingual education has come to public's attention.A widespread belief is that students in classes achieve a higher competence language, but they lag behind subject-specific knowledge when compared fellow traditional (i.e.monolingual) classroom settings.Nevertheless, by evaluating gain short teaching unit, previous studies have shown rarely experience drawbacks.Although there are variety different opinions, present study aims at detecting how influenced biology lessons.The was conducted grammar school North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with 13-and 14-year-old students.To assess differences students' gain, test and control groups were used, which taught 12 identical lessons classroom.The unit consisted basic characteristics seen (social) insects.Both took before after unit.We hypothesised would be increase for class monolingual class.Results suggested slightly students, no significant revealed.
