The Effect of BATHE Method on Preoperative Anxiety, Patient Satisfaction and Individual Anesthesia Concerns: Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Clinical Trial

ABSTRACT
Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the causes concern among patients who will undergo elective surgical operations and receive general anesthesia, gauge their preoperative anxiety levels effects BATHE method on patient satisfaction. Material Methods: Five hundred adult were planned surgery with anesthesia included in study. Before examination, demographic data all patients, three biggest fears about Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety Information Scale (APAIS) scores recorded. Then, divided into two groups a closed envelope randomization 250 each. underwent anamnesis or standard methods according groups, then APAIS satisfaction Results: most feared cause was 'not waking up after surgery'. score found be higher women, young people, married people children, no prior experience degree education. values gynaecology obstetrics. difference between before examination group using during visit compared group. than Conclusion: We concluded that inclusion interview technique may reduce anxiety.
