ABSTRACT
Objective: Accessory navicular (AN) is one of the most common accessory bones foot. It classified into three types according to radiologic appearance. Also these are divided subgroups. was difficult distinguish prominent tuberosity from Type IIIb AN as there no criterion in literature. Therefore, it aimed ensure morphometric data for medial extension AN. Material and Methods: In present study, radiographs 77 subjects were investigated terms presence types. Widths anteroposterior lengths both native its measured evaluated statistically. Results: I II detected 6 11 sides, respectively. While could not be discernable, IIIa c found 3 sides. The width length bone significantly higher men than women (p=0.0001, p=0.018). But statistically significant difference between sexes parameters (p=0.776, p=0.137). Dimensions bony didn't show differences or absence (Type I, II, IIIa, c). Conclusion: all cases, exceeding surgical reference line medially more less. Knowledge about diversity morphometry part helpful procedures. To clarify this issue discrimination criteria sufficient, proposed describe an enormous sized rather being bone.
