Using a solid-phase extraction followed by direct-injection gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, the concentration of <i>trans</i>-resveratrol was measured in representative selection wines from most prominent wine-producing countries and regions world. With exception Swiss German wines, virtually all white tested had concentrations &lt;0.1 mg/L. Consistently high were Pinot noir, irrespective origin. On other hand, Cabernet Sauvignon covered wide range concentrations, with relatively values those cool-climate such as Ontario Bordeaux region France, whereas warmer climates California, South America, Australia tended to have much lower concentrations.
