Distress and Quality of Life in Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy

ABSTRACT
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the levels distress and quality life in cancer patients receiving chemotherapy relationship between life. Methods: Data were collected during 2013 from 128 at a hospital located Seoul, South Korea. Distress thermometer problem list used measure distress, Functional Assessment Cancer Therapy-general questionnaire Descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, post-hoc Scheffe test, Pearson’s correlation coefficients analyze data. Results: Among participants, 68 (53.1%) male mean age 52.55 years. Forty two (32.8%) diagnosed with stage 4 73 (57.0%) having recurrence or metastasis. score for 4.01 out 10. Seventy four (57.8%) participants had higher, indicating clinically significant distress. Emotional problems highest item among five domains. 68.51± 14.22 108. negatively correlated (r= -.52, p< .001). Conclusion: level specific should be regularly assessed relieve improve chemotherapy.
