Driving through demands: How self-efficacy shapes the impact of job stress on private bus drivers in India

ABSTRACT
This study investigates the relationship between various job demands namely, quantitative demands, work pace, emotional and demand to suppress emotions their psychological job-related effects, including stress, depressive symptoms, satisfaction, among private bus drivers in North India. A sample of 300 was surveyed using a Hindi-translated version Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire. Data analysis conducted SPSS test proposed research hypotheses. The findings highlight significant moderating role self-efficacy this context. Specifically, found positively influence satisfaction while mitigating levels stress symptoms. Furthermore, exhibited substantial impact on respondents, which notably moderated by levels. offers both practical theoretical contributions providing insights that can help operators develop targeted interventions enhance driver well-being performance. Limitations directions for future are also discussed.
