ABSTRACT
The percentage of infertility cases in this world is about 50%. Seahorses (Hippocampus spp.) are widely used traditional medicine. Several studies suggest that seahorses have ethnopharmacological characteristics, such as fertility, antioxidants, and antifatigue. purpose study was to determine whether seahorse extract (SE) comes L.) has an effect on fertility serum biochemistry rats induced by depo medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA).All animals were with 1.25 mg/kg BW DMPA. Animals grouped into five groups: namely aquadest, 1% CMC, SE doses 150, 225, 300 BW. gavage every morning from week 7 until 18. At the end our study, semen vas deferens blood heart analyzed. We analyzed a one-way analysis variance Bonferroni's post hoc tests (α 95%).The concentration spermatozoa had significant difference dose 150 compared other groups (p = 0.04). In contrast, motility 0.012) viability 0.007) highly differences < 0.05 p 0.01) at Testosterone levels not significantly 0.162; > 0.05), but tended increase (11.01%). Nevertheless, insignificant 0.05) all groups.SE ameliorates
