ABSTRACT
Background and Aims: Tobacco smoking has a significant role in health deterioration worldwide. The study was conducted to estimate the prevalence awareness of among young Makkah people. Methods: A cross-sectional tobacco smoking’s prevalence, characteristics, perception, using GATS standardized questionnaire tool. Results: sample size 410, males 22.92% (n = 94), for fe¬males 14.39% 59). gender difference is (χ2 93.657, p < 0.001). Most are new users have used it less than one year with frequency ≤ 1 smoke per day. Females more motivated quit by e-cigarettes 56.8% 233) 18.2% 75) while after successful cessation large percentage females continued 53.9% 221) 75).
