Education on Vaccination Competence: an Intensive Course for Skillful Health Science Students

ABSTRACT
Background: Vaccination is one of the most successful and cost-effective interventions for public health. Studies have shown that health professionals who good knowledge positive attitudes towards vaccination are more likely to provide effective protection people, including themselves. Therefore, science students must acquire evidence-based during their education meet challenges healthcare. Objective: The aim this study was investigate knowledge, feedback participated in Educating Competence (EDUVAC) Intensive Course. Methods: A five-day Course implemented students, which included a pre-assignment. EDUVAC used different teaching methods (lectures, workshops, interactive games, discussions), group work, visits, cultural programs encourage students’ motivation. For purpose study, filled out an online questionnaire after giving informed consent. Results: Sample consisted 31 from five European Higher Institutions. They had very on questions. In post measurement it significantly greater equal 81%, p<0.001. Almost all (93.5%) totally agreed “It important adults receive recommended vaccines according national guidelines”. statement “I active attitude participation Course” received 80.6% total agreement. Over 90.3% rated as “excellent” or “above average”. Conclusions: After completing Course, felt confident skills, benefited professional development.
