Peer mentorship and positive effects on student mentor and mentee retention and academic success

ABSTRACT
This study examined how the introduction of peer mentorship in an undergraduate health and social welfare programme at a large northern university affected student learning.Using ethnographic case approach, draws upon data collected from small group mentors their mentees over period one academic year using interviews, reflective journals, assessment course evaluation data.Analysis identified number key findings: improves performance for both mentee mentor; reduces stress anxiety, enhances participation engagement community, adds value to outcomes.
