ABSTRACT
This research uses the concept of ambidexterity to develop further field urban transformation and sustainability. Empirically, we document conceptualize experience a Chinese industrialized city, Hangzhou, in overcoming economic-ecological trade-off common declining environments. We analyze Hangzhou's large-scale green initiative by examining political, entrepreneurial environmental rationale behind initiative, distinctive organizational capability that enables its implementation, initiative's economic ecological impact on city. propose elaborate "ambidexterity making" two sets enabling mechanisms explain how such unique is formed functions afford an government actualize aspirations into reality, while simultaneously fostering entrepreneurialism development.
