Sparking Creativity among Manufacturing Workers using Extrinsic Rewards

ABSTRACT
The relationship between extrinsic rewards and creativity has been debatable. In particular, there is a lack of research in the manufacturing sector. this study, using 187 employee-supervisor dyads an electronics company, study investigated how when may foster among workers from conservation resources perspective. We found that employee psychological availability mediated creativity. However, only held employees rated their leader-member-exchange (LMX) as high uncertainty avoidance orientation (UAO) was low. findings reveal important role guiding workers’ resource investment stimulating identification LMX UAO moderators uncovers crucial boundary conditions relationship. Theoretical practical implications are discussed.
