Exclusive $π^+π^-$ Production at the LHC with Forward Proton Tagging

A process of Central Exclusive π + -production in proton-proton collisions and its theoretical description is presented.A possibility measurement, during the special low luminosity LHC runs, with help ATLAS central detector for measuring pions ALFA stations tagging scattered protons studied.A visible cross section estimated to be 21 µb √ s = 7 TeV, which gives over 2000 events 100 -1 integrated luminosity.Differential distributions pion pseudorapidities, proton transverse momenta as well - invariant mass are shown discussed.
