Urban agriculture in Bosnia: case of Sarajevo region

ABSTRACT
About 39% of the Bosnian population is urban. The main objective this work to get an insight into urban and peri-urban agriculture (UPA) in Bosnia with a focus on legal regulatory framework, governance, advisory services’ role. Information were collected by literature review semi-structured interviews 30 gardeners as well extension agents municipal officers Sarajevo region. paper analyses references UPA agricultural development policies Bosnia; assesses agents; planning zoning regulations budget dedicated many municipalities Semi-structured focused also economic, environmental, aesthetical social benefits UPA. Development requires improving promoting multilevel multi-stakeholder fostering pluralistic services.
