Impact of the Serum Uric Acid Level on Subclinical Atherosclerosis in Middle-aged and Elderly Chinese

ABSTRACT
Aim: The carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) is now validated as a sensitive marker of atherosclerosis and directly associated with an increased risk cardiovascular disease. Considering that the independent association between serum uric acid level CIMT remains controversial due to complex interrelationship other known factors, further studies are needed. aim present study explore in general Chinese population determine whether differs according varied metabolic status.Methods: was cross-sectional design. A total 10,281 community-based participants 40 years age or older from Shanghai, China were included current analysis.
