ABSTRACT
Growing substrates are very important for the growth and development of plants, it is quite possible to get maximum yield from flowering crops just by selecting proper growing substrate, a study was conducted evaluate physiochemical characteristics effect selected local soilless on quality lisianthus. The experiment laid out according Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), there were five treatments every treatment replicated thrice, each replication consisting 20 planted in plastic creates 45×60-inch surface area. Substrates crushed well mixed filled crates after lining with polythene green net sheet drainage as per following treatments, viz. silt (100%) control, silt+pressmud (1:1; v/v), silt+coco-coir+pressmud (1:1:1; v/v/v), silt+rice hulls+pressmud Coco-coir+Rice hulls+press mud v/v/v). Data collection done weekly bases all parameters. Results indicated that tallest plants (52.0 cm) higher numbers leaves (50.0), open flowers stem (5.4) having thickest stem, bigger size flower (52.8 mm) vase life (12 days) produced coco-coir+rice v/v/v) substrate. It recommended can used premium production lisianthus (Eustoma grandiflora) would be best substrate among tested commercial production.
