Understanding health students' knowledge of adverse drug reactions

ABSTRACT
This study investigated the knowledge of students from Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine, and Dentistry courses at UNITPAC regarding Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs). A total 111 participated, with a percentage distribution per course 34% in 31% 20% 15% Dentistry. The results revealed that majority acquired about pharmacovigilance ADRs during their undergraduate studies, but there was variation among courses. Pharmacy had highest index (71.1%) pharmacovigilance, while Medicine greatest understanding (72.7%). However, Nursing (26.5%) (17.6%) showed lower pharmacovigilance. Regarding ADRs, (94.7%) (72.7%) rates. In contrast, (73.5%) (41.2%) comprehension. Polypharmacy poorly understood, 68.4% recognizing term, compared to 17.6% students. correctly defined (90.9%) (89.5%) standing out. research indicates need for improvements student education, especially Dentistry, ensure more comprehensive adequately prepare them deal professional practice.
