ABSTRACT
It is known that there still a gap regarding the relationship between basal area, light and variation in functional characteristics. Admitting availability good predictor of trait variation, we hypothesize environments where greater amount light, will be mean standard deviation four traits. If this true, leaf dry matter content, specific area chlorophyll content these expected. To test hypothesis, data were collected on 10 characteristics (leaves, trunk root) 41 species, distributed environments: one with larger (A1>AB), two an intermediate (A2ABI A3ABI) smaller (A4<AB). The hypothesis work was not corroborated, since all evaluated (AF, TMSF, AFE Cc_mass) showed less variability A4<AB, contrary to what would fact most (A4<AB) demonstrated revealed plants environment greatly influenced by disturbances, which caused their reduced.
