ABSTRACT
The term allergic march has been used to describe natural evolution of the atopic disease in children, accompanied by change organ manifestation with time. aim study was analyze role cellular components nasal cytology as a tool for prediction diseases and clinical symptoms preceding march. In retrospective manner out group 1620 146 symptomatic children (60 girls 86 boys) meeting inclusion criteria (age below 4 years at first visit, suggesting allergy, performed beginning observation, observation least years) were included analysis.Mean age time enrollment 27 months (SD 10 months). After rhinitis (AR) diagnosed 85 (58.2%), eczema/dermatitis syndrome (AEDS) 51 (34.9%) asthma 48 (32.9%). Nonallergic etiology identified 36 patients (22.5%). All suffered from AR. Significant differences between groups found number eosinophils (p < 0.001), neutrophils lymphocytes = 0.028) cytological examination mucosa. In AR (alone or combined other comorbidities) eosinophilia higher than AEDS (18% v. 3%; p 0.004) non-allergic 4%; 0.001). Nasal 8% predictive development (sensitivity 80%, specificity 95%).In >or= development. Allergic observed or/and gastrointestinal allergy present observation. small might be risk march.
