ABSTRACT
To examine the trend in prevalence of overweight and obesity schoolchildren from south-eastern Poland over a 10-year period.A cross-sectional study was conducted randomly selected primary schools. In total, 4,248 children (2,182 boys 2,066 girls), mean age 10.5±2.4 years, were examined 1998, 2,412 (1,184 1,228 10.5±2.3 years 2008. each school entire population studied.In 2008, girls 13.3% 7.7%, compared to 12.0% 10.1% 1998. The decrease statistically significant. boys, 2008 14.2% 6.4%, 10.5% 6.8% increase among significant.A toward stabilization noted between 1998-2008. declining increased demonstrates that this group secular is gender dependent.
