ABSTRACT
Traumatic brain injury is the greatest cause of disability and death in young adults developed world. The outcome for a TBI patient determined by severity injury, not only from initial insult but, especially, as product secondary injury. It proposed that this directly linked to neuro-inflammation, with production pro-inflammatory mediators, activation resident glial cells infiltration peripheral immune cells. In context, anti-inflammatory treatments are one most promising therapies dampen inflammatory response associated reduce sense, main objective present study elucidate effect local IL-10 neurological after TBI. For purpose, cryogenic lesion was caused transgenic animals overproducing under GFAP promoter on astrocytes (GFAP-IL10Tg mice) neuro-protection, microglial leukocyte recruitment were evaluated. Our results showed protective neurons at early time-points TBI, correlation shift profile towards down-regulating phenotype lower cytokines.
