THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY SYMPTOMS WITH SIX CORE COMPONENTS OF SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES ADDICTION: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY IN SERBIA

ABSTRACT
It would seem that today the most important thing for many individuals is to have a good profile picture on online social networks.Accordingly, there serious possibility addiction networking sites (SNS) can lead psychosocial and mental disorders other negative consequences health-related issues.So, aim of this study was determine association between excessive use with symptoms depression anxiety.This cross-sectional carried out at University Niš, Faculty Medicine (Serbia) from September December 2019.The included 1,405 participants all them were assessed by using an appropriate questionnaire.The statistical analysis data binary logistic regression.The strongest predictor whether one has high levels state conflict where odds ratio (OR) 10.28 (95% CI: 5.84 -18.08).It been observed are also more common in those respondents expressed withdrawal (OR = 4.27, 95% 3.04 -6.00), mood modification 1.82, 1.12 -2.96).Anxiety symptoms, similar depression, present 10.31,95% 5.25 -20.26), 6.83, 4.98 -9.38), then 2.55, 1.60 -4.07).The number active accounts/profiles devices, as well salience tolerance played no part any cases.This shown direct link SNS anxiety symptoms.Further detailed research, especially longitudinal studies, needed understand essential nature these links.In case, public health professionals should draw attention people, younger population, terms limiting networks.
