Review of the Biodiversity and Limno-ecological Studies on Lake Taal: Updates from the Last 10 Years

ABSTRACT
Lake Taal is one of the most significant lake ecosystems in tropical East Asia. In 2011, a review paper consolidated all known biodiversity and limno-ecological studies conducted from beginning 20th century way to late 2000s. It highlighted that insufficient funding, inadequate long-term monitoring data, publication culture time impeded having comprehensive understanding lake. Since then, much research work has been done Taal, especially during past decade. This provides an analysis summary over 10 years. The recent decade seen steady increase scientific interest made evident by more scientists institutions working on topics involving Research grants, collaborations, publications have also significantly increased led improved lake’s biodiversity, ecology, impacts intensive aquaculture introduction non-native species. Taken together, this presents better which can be utilized for design improvement conservation, preservation, management programs multi-use freshwater system.
