ABSTRACT
An inductively coupled plasma/MS method was developed for the simultaneous determination of Cr, Se, and Mo in infant formula other nutritional products. All samples were digested using a closed vessel microwave oven system, together with Ni Te internal standards. The practical quantitation limits 0.4, 0.2, 0.4 ng/mL, respectively; dilution factors 250 powders 50 liquids. concentrations 10 products within specification limits; within-day day-to-day (6 independent days) precision values <5% RSD. For two control samples, observed < or = 2% RSD over days. results certified three National Institute Standards Technology standard reference materials. average sample spike recoveries ranged from 93 to 107%. Robustness studies showed minimal effect concomitant easily ionized element concentrations. However, choice matrix-matching carbon content critical obtaining accurate Se results. indications are that this would be suitable candidate as global these trace elements formula, adult nutritionals,
