ABSTRACT
During years 2021–2022, an unusual seismic swarm was recorded at crustal level beneath the Monts Dore volcanic province (France). Complementary field and remote measurements were performed. Together with time series on seismological GNSS national networks, these fundamental for monitoring evolution of deciphering its origin. Although a potential vertical migration events is suggested, complementary presumably discard hypothesis magma intrusion shallow level. The ascent CO 2 -rich fluid originating from mantle might instead have reacted hydrothermal system Monts-Dore since least summer 2021 leading to reactivation pre-existing tectonic structures known associated seismicity. Feedback management 2021–2022 prompts several recommendations that should be considered in future better face address issues raised long-dormant provinces mainland France.
