ABSTRACT
Background: BCG (Bacille Calmette-Guerin) vaccine is an attenuated live administered to prevent Tuberculosis. Disseminated infection due a rare life threatening complication of this vaccine, especially in immunocompromised patients. Objectives: The current study evaluated the sensitivity pattern strain supplied by Institute de Pasteur, Iran against anti-mycobacterial drugs used treat disseminated caused vaccine. Patients and Materials: Bacille Calmette-Guerin ATCC 1173 P was purchased from Pasteur Tehran three samples Mycobacterium bovis isolated subaxillary adenitis patients were tested for susceptibility major MODS (microscopic observation drug sensitivity) method. Results: All resistant most separately except concentrations isoniazid 1 µg/mL, ethambutol 3 ciprofloxacin 4 µg/mL clarithromycin 2 µg/mL. Addition pyrazinamide (PZA) 25 did not change any , but increasing PZA concentration 50 µg/ml combining it with ethionamide 0.2 streptomycin rifampin 0.5 or made strains susceptible. Conclusions: findings revealed that resistance resolved other agents.
