Omyl, nebo úmysl? Analýza neplatných hlasů v olomouckém kraji

This article deals with the phenomenon of invalid voting which has appeared in regional elections Olomouc region Czech Republic. First, contemporary theories are introduced. Second, given hypotheses, include both institutional and socio-economic factors that, according to theories, contribute higher levels voting, tested. Statistical analysis such as linear regression is employed research. The dataset comprised municipalities (cases) were held. results show that associated concurrent (elections assembly upper house (the Senate) Parliament) those residents older less well-educated. If held without concurring elections, variables have a smaller effect on voting. Therefore, state authorities should consider revision respective electoral law simplify process involved elections.
