ABSTRACT
Skin as the outermost layer of body will be first exposed to UV light, and pollution which may form free radicals lead premature aging, so application antioxidants is indispensable. One skin cares that are in great demand serum. A plant has a high content widely cultivated Indonesia chrysanthemum flower (Chrysanthemum indicum L.). Previous research stated IC50 value chrysanthemums was 43.34 ppm. This study aimed determine contained extract formulate it into serum gel contains meets physical parameters. The method used determining DPPH method. formulation carried out by adding different levels formula. evaluation test includes organoleptic, pH, spreadability, viscosity, antioxidant activity stability at room temperature (25oC) (40oC). results obtained were values extracts 32.78 ± 0.01 ppm while 109.10 0.1 (F1) 73.51 0.08 (F2) after 4 weeks stored 114.02 0.09 76.39 0.06 (F2). conclusion very strong activity, stable both 40oC for weeks.
