ABSTRACT
Production and seed quality in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) can be reduced substantially by situ germination under unpredictable rainfed environments. Inheritance of fresh dormancy Spanish x crosses was studied with two sets segregating populations, an F2 population derived from true F1 hybrids identified microsatellites markers other populations (F2, BC1P1Sand BC1P2S) randomly-selected individuals. In the developed hybrids, chi square test not significant for deviation expected 3:1 (dormant: non-dormant) ratio. addition, bimodal frequency distribution curve gave more evidence that is controlled a single dominant gene. The average (48%) give deviations ratios (F2 BC1P1S) non-tested individuals, most likely due to inadvertent selfs. This study emphasized need identify molecular cross progenies self-pollinated crops as before testing any trait. Key words: Peanut, dormancy, SSR markers.
