ABSTRACT
Pre-sowing treatment of seeds with non-thermal plasma different gases has been studied on the growth and yield soybean (Glycine max var. JS-9560) under field conditions for two consecutive years (2022 2023). Five types gases, N2, He, Ar, H2, O2 were used to create in a cylindrical vacuum container an RF power supply. Soybean exposed 15 seconds at 80 W. Growth measurements taken 30, 60, 90 days after sowing seeds. Plasma improved germination, plant height, leaf area, fresh weight all stages vegetative period. N2 He most effective promoting biomass compared O2, H2. The parameters terms number pods, seeds, 100 seed extent around 60 % by plasma. Other (Ar, O2) less beneficial increasing yield. especially would be highly enhancing level. characterization was conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), optical emission spectroscopy (OES). SEM analysis showed significant changes nitrogen, helium, argon, oxygen, hydrogen treated indicating alterations surface starch caryopsis, resulting large channels pores. FTIR indicated modifications exposure plasma-treated suggesting activation due lipid breakdown. OES detected OH, NO, O, radicals during treatment, contributing optimal outcome.
