ABSTRACT
Introduction:Paracoccidioidomycosis is an endemic fungal infection of great prevalence in Latin America.Case report: A 68-year-old male patient was referred to the Universidade Federal do Maranhão (UFMA) due ulcerated lesion with moriform appearance throughout palate, symptoms.The clinical diagnosis squamous cell carcinoma and incisional biopsy confirmed chronic paracoccidioidomycosis.Grocott-Gomori periodic acid Schiff (PAS) were used as special stains.Conclusion: It important observe characteristics lesion, well clarify population about this since health education a fundamental step prevent diagnose lesion.
