ABSTRACT
While presence of meaning in life (i.e., presence) is associated with a plethora desirable qualities (e.g., greater well-being, longevity, positive affect), search for psychological distress reports conflict, rumination, depression; Boyle, Barnes, Buchman, & Bennett, 2009). Individuals higher resiliency, defined as multifaceted competency adapting and recovering from adversity, could potentially mitigate the search, thus, achieve satisfaction (SWL). The present study examined moderating role between resiliency sense mastery relatedness) SWL sample Canadian university students (N=289). Hierarchical regression analyses showed that there was association this stronger at levels compared to lower meaning. These results suggest individuals searching high have greatest SWL, while their counterparts low lowest SWL. Similar effects were found relatedness Overall, findings protective factors may buffer against potential negative impact search.
