An Advanced Salvage Method for Damaged Ship Structures

ABSTRACT
An advanced salvage method is proposed for damaged ships to ensure a short-term decision-making process safe ocean towage the repair yard. The residual longitudinal strength must be greater than sum of still water and maximum vertical wave bending moment. ultimate moment determined numerically container vessel by using an incremental iterative approach (Smith method) wave-induced loads are predicted means hydrodynamic analyses. Successful applicability demonstrated vessel, which was towed from La Libertad, Ecuador, via Panama yard in Zhoushan, China, restricted environmental conditions.
