ABSTRACT
Background: Oral anticancer agents (OAAs) transformed cancer care for patients, extending survival and delaying progression in certain cases. There are multiple pharmacy-driven models to improve patient knowledge adherence OAAs. However, a lack of measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) has limited the adoption, implementation, maintenance these models. The objective this study was identify set KPIs, their metrics, target values that indicated improved through an OAA program. Methods: A literature review conducted initial list defined metrics targets success. We assembled advisory panel clinicians (n=9), administrators (n=7), patients (n=2) from across academic affiliated community center gauge agreement on identified KPIs use within structured intervention. used Qualtrics survey consisting questions measured using 5-point Likert scale response ranged 1 (strongly disagree) 5 agree) subsequent consensus-building discussion with agreeability definitions, KPIs. Results: Eleven were identified: (1) time intended initiation; (2) rate during active treatment; (3) adverse events; (4) medication-related financial toxicity; (5) satisfaction; (6) treatment-related emergency department visits; (7) hospital admissions; (8) proportion adherence, toxicity, barriers assessed; (9) referred social work; (10) spent by each phase as intervention’s standard operating procedure; (11) revenue generated billing service. Conclusions: This 11 can be evaluating success Use will piloted after formal implementation program both centers.
