ABSTRACT
State-of-charge (SOC) is one of the significant indicators to estimate driving range electric vehicle and control alternator conventional engine vehicles as well. Therefore its precise estimation crucial not only for utilizing energy effectively but also preventing critical situations happening power train lengthening lifetime battery. However, lead-acid battery time-variant, highly nonlinear, hysteresis phenomenon causes large errors in SOC especially under frequent discharge/charge. This paper proposes a novel technique Lead-Acid by using well-known Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) an electrical equivalent circuit model considering diffusion characteristics. The considered reconstruction open voltage decay depending on rest time effect modeled calculating normalized integration charge throughput during partial cycle. validity proposed algorithm verified through experiments.
