ABSTRACT
India's rapid development and expanding population have intensified the need for sustainable energy solutions. This is particularly significant in addressing growing disparity access between urban rural communities. As country shifts from traditional fossil-fuel-based power generation to cleaner technologies, nuclear poised play an increasingly vital role. Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) represent a promising option meet these demands decentralized environmentally friendly manner, especially regions. In this perspective article, we explore technological, economic, social, environmental advantages of deploying SMRs India. offer potential faster cheaper build, as well stable reliable power, which essential driving economic growth underdeveloped areas. However, several challenges be addressed, including regulatory legislative hurdles that could impede integration into existing mix. article also suggests solutions such leveraging India’s reactor technology expertise, utilizing mature supply chain framework, co-locating with renewable sources, advocating necessary reforms. These would help serve crucial bridge facilitating smoother transition fossil fuel plants clean underserved
