ABSTRACT
During the last few decades, imergence of genome editing technology has helped Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology to revolutionize sector agriculture decrease world hunger. Genome enables biotechnology researchers modify living organisms plants by modification (insertion, deletion, or replacement) genetic material its genome. Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats-associated protein 9 (CRISPR/Cas9) is a type used worldwide edit genomes several crop varieties. It based on mechanism acquired immunity bacteria against viral invasion. This third-generation tool modern, error-free, more robust, well-programmable, considerably higher target site specificity when compared other tools such as ZFNs (Zinc finger nucleases) TALENS (transcription activator-like effector nucleases), gene expression suppression siRNA. CRISPR/Cas9 technique revolutionized plant science agricultural research developing germplasms with desired traits, thus resulting in sustainable agriculture. review expects show uses for improvement evaluate recent examples crops whose are successfully edited improved CRISPR/Cas9. In addition, we present challenges future expectancies improvement.
