The genus Trichoniscus (Isopoda: Oniscidea) consists of 103 different species, according to Encyclopedia Life (2024), spreading over the entirety European continent and parts North America. Most species in this live upper layers soil, while some are subterranean, living caves anthropic underground cavities, such as mines tunnels.
