ABSTRACT
Background. Anterior colporrhaphy has been the traditional standard surgical treatment for anterior vaginal prolapse. However, since it is associated with a 40% recurrence rate, an attempt made to resolve problem of by means artificial mesh. Objective. To compare with self-tailored mesh in colporrhaphy. Methods. One hundred and six women were enrolled prospective randomised controlled trial divided into two groups: ( n =54) self-tailored repair =52). The pelvic organ prolapse quantification (POPQ) system was used. Women symptomatic ≥POPQ stage II included. Those concomitant stress urinary incontinence, dominant posterior prolapse, active infections suspected malignancy excluded. Outcomes at end procedure, intraoperative postoperative complications, follow-up (4 weeks, 6 months,1 year) noted. Patients assessed (≥POPQ II), satisfaction acceptability. Results. Postoperative outcome significantly better than preoperative staging, but no significant difference seen groups. On follow-up, primary endpoints (Aa, Ba, tVL) did not differ significantly between There more complications group. Satisfaction acceptability similar Conclusion. Although outcomes groups similar, duration surgery blood loss greater use needs be evaluated further.
