ABSTRACT
Gunshot wounds to the head are usually fatal injuries, despite all medical and surgical interventions. Ventricular injury is a poor prognostic factor-for penetrating cranial gunshot wounds. Intraventricular hemorrhage ventricular lacerations main components of such injuries. The incidence, management, outcomes cases secondary that were treated during 9-year period at Gülhane Military Medical Academy examined. study group consisted 67 consecutive patients who admitted Department Neurosurgery with diagnosis injury, different penetration sites. had been injured by either bullets or shrapnel. Surgical treatment was performed for injuries 22 (32.8%) died. in complex severe type trauma requires serious treatment. Early radiological accurate frequently lifesaving roles these patients.
