ABSTRACT
Background. Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a disorder characterized by dopaminergic neuron programmed cell death. The etiology of PD remains uncertain—some cases are due to selected genes associated with familial heredity, others environmental exposure toxic components, but over 90% have sporadic origin. Nocardia Actinobacteria that can cause human diseases like nocardiosis. This illness lead lung infection or central nervous system (CNS) invasion in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent individuals. main species involved CNS N. farcinica, nova , brasiliensis cyriacigeorgica . Some studies highlighted the ability induce disease-like symptoms animals. known produce large variety secondary metabolites, some which be neurotoxic. We hypothesized neurotoxic metabolite production onset PD-like animals could linked. Methods. Here we used method screen bacteria neurodegeneration before performing mouse experiments. Results. nematode Caenorhabditis elegans allowed us demonstrate strains belonging farcinica neurodegeneration. Strains interest nematodes neurodegenerative disorders were then injected mice. Infected mice had behavioral may related neuronal damage, thus confirming These induced ( GUH-2 44484) 10152. Discussion. conclude C. good model for detecting detect high effects should studied characterize bacterial dissemination.
