ABSTRACT
Background: MMP-3 is a proteolytic enzyme of the matrix metalloproteinase family. Protein degradation which their fundamental action regulates different activities tumor cell such as growth, differentiation, apoptosis, migration, invasion, angiogenesis well resistance to immune system. Aim: The aim this study was determine serum levels in patients with OSCC and investigate if they correlate clinicopathological features. Method materials: Using an ELISA kit, we assessed compared circulating blood 45 oral squamous carcinoma healthy control samples. Results: level significantly higher (<TEX>$9.45{\pm}4.6$</TEX> ng/ml) than controls (<TEX>$5.9{\pm}3.6$</TEX> ng/ml, p<0.001), especially females older patients. However, there no apparent correlation concentration clinico-pathological features location, stage, size, nodal status, distant metastasis, histological grade smoking. Discussion: This result suggests that measurement might be helpful diagnose but not predict prognosis.
