ABSTRACT
Increased intake of fruits, due to their high antioxidant capacity, is known reduce the risk many diseases. The capacity fruits attributed by presence phenolics. The aim present study was evaluate how solvents affect extraction phenolic and flavonoid substances activity fruit extracts A. chaplasha C. carandas. The were extracted using water various concentrations (50%, 70% pure) methanol, ethanol acetone in as solvent.Phenolic contents measured Folin-Ciocalteu method aluminum trichloride respectively.Antioxidant DPPH free radical scavenging assay. The efficiency extracting phenols varied considerably for both fruits.Phenolic content highest extract lowest 100% whilst pure fruit.Strong correlation found between activities.Between two carandas had higher phonolic all suggesting could be a potential source natural food nutraceutical applications.
