ABSTRACT
SARS-CoV-2 has resulted in a global pandemic and the development of multiple vaccines. Here we present case 61-year-old woman who developed interstitial lung disease (ILD) with anti-melanoma differentiation-associated protein-5 (MDA-5) anti-polymyositis (PM)/Scl-75 antibodies after her second dose BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine. Clinical, laboratory, radiologic findings supported diagnosis rapidly progressive ILD. Despite aggressive treatment, respiratory status declined, she needed mechanical ventilation until eventual death from failure. To our knowledge, this is first known vaccine-induced ILD associated positive anti-MDA-5 anti-PM/Scl-75 antibodies.
