Acute Bilateral Scleritis After Recent Streptococcal Infection

ABSTRACT
A 67-year-old woman with no prior ocular history and culture-confirmed streptococcal pharyngitis presented bilateral eye redness, pain movement, swelling, blurry vision. Her condition worsened initial conservative treatment. Repeat imaging indicated scleritis, laboratory test results showed elevated antistreptolysin-O titers. After steroid treatment, her vision returned to baseline symptoms resolved. Acute scleritis is important consider in a patient recent infection despite penicillin Besides findings, patients may not present dermatologic or rheumatologic symptoms.
